I love how open ended, and independent I was in my work, it allowed me to set priorities for myself and really gain a sense of agency in my work.įinally, being an office assistant really helped out with my organizational skills. Beyond that, working with a partner really helped me gain communicating skills in my line of work, and allowed me to get better at multi-tasking a very important skill in completing delivery services.īeyond that, my work at SW helped develop relationships with my colleagues and help explore creativity in my line of work. Aside from gaining an excellent sense of direction, working for the Postmates Fleet helped me gain a sense of punctuality to completing orders that is imperative to effectively working in a team.
There are a many skills that my occupational history (as well as academic/artistic history) has nurtured and help grow. Whether it is completing that last delivery, closing that last deal, finishing that homework assignment, or filing that last filing cabinet, it takes dedication, persistence, and hard-work to see your work done, and done well. The skills of time-management, dedication, and communication were taught by lessons which seep into all aspects of life. I actually attend an arts school, Orange County School of the Arts (OCSA), where the days are long and the workload is extensive. It takes dedication to achieve academic and artistic success. It takes hard-work to reach out to others and form relationships, and foster communication. It takes persistence to see your deliveries through. It takes patience to see these achievements come to fruition.

I set realistic expectations for myself, and make plans for how to accomplish my goals. Not just occupationally, but in all aspects of my life, I place a value on working hard and actively pursuing my goals. Although my work experience has found itself manifested in many ways, one thing is consistent throughout it all: hard work.
